Biblical-meditation is able to transform your life and take you to the next level of consciousness
Biblical-meditation can make your thoughts pure
One study says that meditation can affect certain brain regions and make people more compassionate,
kind, loving and forgiving.
A study by University of Wisconsin-Madison proved that meditation makes people more sensitive towards other people.
Some volunteers were taught to concentrate on their loved ones, wish them happiness and health.
Later, they were taught to concentrate on other people and generate loving emotions to them.
Results show significant changes in insula – a region of the frontal brain, which is mainly responsible for emotions.
Insula captures bodily changes made by emotions, such as heart rate and blood pressure,
and transfers the information to other parts of the brain.
Scientists suggest this finding can be very useful for society – people may become more caring about others,
less inclined to violence, people will stay away from depression and anxiety.
Meditation is recommended for your health,
stress management, self-control, and spiritual direction.
The results from this study is nothing new, learningbiblical-meditation has been accomplishing even
more than this in terms of transforming the mind and lives of individuals. It is just a matter
of you becoming aware of who you are, why are you here and where do you go from here.
Biblical-meditation consists in the ‘reasoning from the known to the unknown.
' The ‘known' is the physical world, recognisable by our five senses. The unknown is the spiritual,
invisible reality. This brings us to the next level of
meditation,
which is ‘the inexpressible yearning of the inner being to go up towards the infinite.
Biblical-meditation is much more than just setting aside moments of quiet contemplation. It is a lifestyle
that you have decided to set your life apart for digesting the mystries and divine wisdom of God. So you
delight youself in the Law of God, and in His Laws you meditate day and night (Psalm 1:2)
You let the words of your mouth and the meditation of you heart to be acceptable in God's sight
day and night (Psalm19:14). Even in your bed, "On my bed I meditate on you, I think on you through the watches
of the night" (Psalm 63:6). Sometimes there is no sleep because "our eyes stay open through the watches of
the night, that I may meditate on your promises" (Psalm119:148).
I am now speaking about the inexpressible yearning of the inner being to ‘go up towards the infinite,'
which is the real meaning of adoration, the soul sincere desire, uttered or unexpressed.
It is a means of drawing closer to God the infinite being.
Biblical-meditation is a method, or vehicle by which one makes intimate connection with God.
This opens other avenue to get enlightenment on deeper spiritual matters like disernment.
Biblical disernment is to know something supernaturally through the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
For biblical-meditation to be effective, we have to be disciplined, determined, and focused.
We have to train our mind to think
controled thoughts, which takes time to remove those old unproductive
ideas and replacing them productive ones. The transformation of our minds -
or setting the
right kind of attitude - takes time.
When to Meditate
By setting apart special times for meditation a habit is formed,
and as the time comes round the mind will, after a while, become trained,
so that meditation at the particular time will become natural. Hence, as far as possible,
it will be well for you to keep to the same time.
You may, if you will, set apart a certain half-hour, or hour,
just before going to sleep
and after arising as soon as possible after and before eating.
Concentrate your mind upon the Supreme Being, the blessings God has caused to come into your life.
If you find your mind straying, bring it back again to the subject of meditation. The mind will stray more or less,
at first, and perhaps for a long time to come, but do not be discouraged at the apparent results
if unsatisfactory in your opinion.
