Fitness is fun, healthy I made an important decision and investment to join a fitness club in my community, I feel better, my energy level has improved, my weight decreased, all my health reports are good and I have met some wonderful people in the process. My eating habits also seemed to change for the better in the process. With all the fitness and health-related choices in our communities, my suggestion is for everyone to consider making some important life changes that will extend your life and improve your quality of life. Water, white meats, fish and exercise Living in the city puts us at a predisposed disadvantage when it comes to our health. The polution, automoble dependency syndrome and unhealthy (albeit great tasting) culinary choices coupled with society’s infatuation with technological gadgets that require little movement, has provided us a recipe for health disaster.With a lineage prone to health issues, I’ve taken steps to implement a regimen of water , white meats and fish, along with vitamins and consistent running into my weekly schedule. Dust off the old bicycle for your local trips. Not only will you be healthier, you’ll be doing your part to reduce health care and fuel costs for yourselves and your neighbors. Value your body Paying attention to food and exercise-benefits are essential to maintaining good health. It is unfortunate healthy foods like fruits and vegetables are the most expensive at grocery stores, however, several servings a day of both will help decrease the chances of heart attacks, strokes and diabetes.Exercise-benefits for three to four times a week is important in keeping my weight down and improving my cardiovascular system.As far as drinking and smoking are concerned, that is a no-brainer. Try to stick with a diet I have every intention of keeping up with an exercise routine, but the calls of work, family and household seem to always make me stumble along that path. Once you are off the routine, it is way too easy to put off the next exercise-benefits session until next Monday. The strange thing is that “next Monday” never seems to come.I do a much better job with diet than exercise. A well balanced diet with a fair amount of whole grains, limited fats and sugars and with daily supplements (fish oil in particular) are a good bet to fight off heart disease.
