Stress-Management - The Key to Health Conscious Living
HOW VULNERABLE ARE YOU TO STRESS?
To give us a better handle on Stress-Management, The following Test was done by two
Psychologists from Baston University Medical Centre. Score each item from 1 (almost always) to 5 (never),
according to how much of the time each statement applies to you.
You eat at least one hot balanced meal a day.
You get 7 to 8 hours sleep at least four nights a week
You give and receive affection regularly.
you have at least one relative within 50 miles on whom you can rely.
You exercise to the point of persperation at least twice weekly.
You haven't gone out with friends or relatives in the past month.
You take fewer than five alcoholic drinks a week.
You have the appropriate weight for your height.
You have an income adequate to meet your basic expenses
.You have a network of friends and acquaintances.
You have one or more friends to confide in about personal matters.
You are in good health (including eyesight, hearing and teeth).
You are able to speak openly about your feeling when angry or worried.
You have regular conversations with the people you live with about all domestic problems,
chores, money and love.
You do something for fun at least once a week.
you are able to organize your time effectively.
You drink fewer than 3 cups of coffee (or tea or cola drink) a day.
You spend less than one hour in traffic at least three time a week.
You have very few conflicts with you boss or collegues.
You take quiet time each day.
Total your scores:
- 20 - 40 points mean your stress-management level is under control
- 41 - 60 points mean you are safe, but needs to exercise a little caution
- 61 - 80 points mean you are in the fast lane and could be heading for trouble
- 81 - 100 points mean you need to make some drastic change because something serious is about to happen
any day now. Stress-Management needs serious attention in most of our lives.
