Mental Health is a state of emotional and psychological well-being in which a
person is able to use his or her cognitive emotional and behavioral
capabilities to function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life.
It is a branch of medicine that deals with the achievement, adjustment and
maintenance of psychological well-being.
Social-mental-health can also be defined as an absence of a major mental
health condition. Mental-health is more than the mere absence of a
mental disorder or illness. Therefore the impact of social, cultural,
physical spiritual and education can all affect someone's mental wellbeing.
Mental Health is the wholistic balance between all aspects of life - social,
physical, spiritual and emotional. It impacts on how we manage our
surroundings, interract and work with different personality types,
and make choices in our lives - it is clearly a vital segment of our overall health.
Social-mental-healthis a state or condition on which an
individual feels a sense of wellbeing. This gives them the ability to
live their life in total fulfillment of what they want to achieve
in accordance with the resources available to them.
The World Health Organization defines mental health as "a state
of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities,
can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully,
and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”.[1]
Social-mental-health can be viewed as a continuous rage between an individual's
mental health the many different possible values to process.
Mental wellness is generally seen as a positive attribute, where individuals
can reach enhanced levels of mental wellbeing, even if they don't
have any condition of mental health that can be diagnosed.
This definition of mental health emphasize emotional well-being,
the capacity to live a full and creative life, and the flexibility to deal
with the challenges of life that cannot be avoided.
